Pilot Plant Technician

ROLE PURPOSE

 

The job holder will be expected to ensure the successful running of trials in support of all the Technologists across all applications and their goals and projects to the highest standard.

Maintain the highest quality and safety standards.

To maintain high focus and commitment on their continuous improvement.

Adheres to the T&L Strategy and implements it with the support of their line manager.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Execute the trials assigned and ensure the outcomes are given timely and effectively for the whole process assigned from trials to analytics.
  • Ensure all trials are documented, following systems in place.
  • Evaluation of trials using sensory and objective tools available.
  • Summarising technical findings and documenting for future reference.
  • Presenting developments/trials to colleagues and sales team.
  • Supporting/Organising customer visits to the pilot plant.
  • Communication with customer when on site.
  • Preparation of the equipment and running of trials (Pilot Plant or Bench) following agreed SOP/JSA’s in place.
  • Maintain and challenge the SOP/JSA’s in use and train others.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order.
  • Weighing out of ingredients required for trials.
  • Maintain clean and hygienic working environment in the pilot plant.
  • Liaise closely with the other departments to ensure the smooth running of the department as a whole, especially with the local RMX Team (providing local trial support) for product development, as well as for the technical support to the technologists priorities.
  • Responsibility for Daily/Weekly/Monthly Checks within the pilot plant.
  • Preparing and organising the daily tasting session for the technologists.
