Key Relationships

Role will primarily interact with the JV CFO to ensure that business results are captured, reported accurately, and shared with the parents as needed.

Role will interact with our service centers in other geographical regions.  Successful candidate must be able to maintain relationships in order to resolve issues.

Role may interact with outside vendors on occasion to resolve disputes with pricing or invoicing.

 

OVERVIEW AND ROLE PURPOSE

 

Overview

DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products is a 50/50 equity joint venture between DuPont and Tate & Lyle. The technology involved was developed through a series of DuPont partnerships and is recognized as the leading application of industrial biotech in the world today. The Loudon plant, which can produce 140 MM lbs of corn-derived 1, 3 propanediol, started up in October 2006. The business plan is for rapid growth. This is a great opportunity to participate at the leading edge of bio-based materials and industrial biotech.

 

Role Purpose

This hybrid role combines Financial Analysis and Controllership responsibilities.  The role will provide insightful analysis and commentary regarding variance analysis and risks and opportunities within the BioPDO business. Identify and understand trends in the business utilizing analytics. Ensure controls are in place and followed.  Work collaboratively with the BioPDO management team to ensure delivery of business goals

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Maintain Cost Accounting System
  • Calculate accruals, analyze product costing, and reconcile physical inventory counts
  • Assist in Month end close of the General Ledger
  • Consolidate monthly results of BioPDO business, perform variance analysis and provide commentary
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Deliver models and analysis to provide insight and support to the BioPDO Management Team in facilitating decision-making and driving action.
  • Variance Analysis on monthly reports giving forward looking insights
  • Pricing analytics
  • Other ad-hoc financial support.
  • Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program
  • Ensure the business always remains in line with control standards (support the Minimum Control Standards (MCS) and Risk Control Matrix (RCM) processes)
  • Interface with internal and external auditors, prepare data and provide supporting documentation.
  • Actively support/lead the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, including Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Forecast updates, and 5 year-strategic plan

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Required
  • 5+ years-experience as an Accountant in a manufacturing environment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with Forecasting and Budgeting processes
  • Experience with general ledger accounting
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Experience with Hyperion preferred

 

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • Sound judgment and problem analysis skills
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to allow productive collaborative relationships with varying levels of organization from operators to management.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage data with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel skills
