Role purpose 
This role sits in our corporate development, strategy and planning team based in our corporate headquarters in Central London. You will be responsible for leading, supporting and delivering strategic projects in addition to taking full ownership of market sizing and competitive positioning. This includes forging strong relationships with key stakeholders and translating complex information into meaningful insights. You are accountable for the success of the projects you lead. 

 


Main accountabilities

  • Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis of our global competitors, industry, new market and  product opportunities (in the global food ingredients space) 
  • Provide decision support and analysis support to the Senior Executive team (including writing and presenting reports)
  • Provide analytical (financial and strategic) support for strategy development, execution plans, 5-year planning process and due diligence
  • Project management: outline scope, key questions, deliverables, work plans, design templates, meeting roadmaps, coordinate with internal stakeholders, track KPIs
  • Maintain and further refine market sizing and competitive position database and tools using external and internal sources, guarantee alignment with multiple internal stakeholders and propose recommendations to improve quality and accuracy of data to inform strategic processes
  • Collaborate on driving strategic M&A initiatives and support acquisition activities (e.g. due diligence, etc.)
  • International travel as required

 

Examples of three recent projects undertaken by the Strategy function are i) collaborating with business units regional leadership teams to define / refresh 5-year strategy and execution plans ii) partnering with business units to define category strategies iii) define the M&A strategy with the CFO and CEO. Previous incumbents have progressed into commercial roles in the business such as  Product Management.

 


Skills and experience required  

  • Experience working as Senior Associate / Consultant, or equivalent in a top-tier strategy consulting firm
  • Strong research and analytical pedigree
  • Relevant and complex financial modelling experience; comfortable manipulating complex market databases
  • Experience leading Consumer Products, B2B and / or Marketing / Strategy projects preferred 
  • First class communication skills
  • Credible and comfortable influencing at senior level
  • Good experience supporting strategic decision-making processes, making choices and assessing trade-offs
  • A natural collaborator and networker with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally
  • Ambitious and outstanding high performing team player
  • Self-starter, easily able to work independently and demonstrate initiative
