Role purpose 

The purpose of this role is to collaborate with key stakeholders to design, develop and implement Global Professional Services & Finance category strategies which deliver improved value, reduce risk, improve quality and service as well as develop and deliver a procurement plan which meets or exceeds targets and expectations.  Using your first class communication, you will ensure that cross-functional business opportunities are well received, actively embraced and adopted.   

 

 

Main accountabilities

  • Collaborate with key business partners and senior leadership to gain a clear understanding of the strategic direction, and supply requirements and priorities, to ensure Professional Services & Finance category buy in.

 

  • Develop, negotiate and manage contracts and suppliers for the Professional Services & Finance category through supplier scorecards, periodic business reviews; measuring contract compliance and other key metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded, system data is updated timely and accurately and value is being constantly and consistently delivered to the business under the supply agreements.

 

  • Interact with operational procurement teams, to identify best approaches for handling operational transactions to lower administrative costs, add accountability, controls and drive efficiencies.

 

  • Analyse and continuously monitor market and industry data to ensure programmes remain competitive throughout the agreement period.  Generate meaningful and insightful market reports for stakeholders and ExCo / Leadership Teams.

 

  • Leading through influence, you will act as Project Lead and / or Facilitator for cross-functional teams to continually assess business requirements and align supply base and resources to drive savings results for the company on a year over year basis.

 

  • Utilise available sourcing tools and technologies to conduct spend analysis, eSourcing, contract and supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing activities.

 

  • Analyse and maintain global spend databases, using this info to; benchmark category trends, create multi-year strategic sourcing strategies and implement programs that provide a competitive advantage.

 

  • Provide periodic Professional Services & Finance category updates to the leadership team detailing key supplier initiatives, savings to target and category spend & trend analysis.

 

  • Provide regular and appropriate Professional Services & Finance category communications to stakeholders to ensure the business has an understanding of industry best practices, trends and category knowledge.

 

  • Seek alternate and innovative ideas to provide business solutions, challenge requirements and specifications to create competitive advantage with tact and diplomacy.  

 

  • Ensure savings targets and reporting requirements are met in a timely manner.

Skills and experience required  

  • Practical work  experience  in strategic sourcing in a multinational company with a proven track record of achieving year over year savings
  • Clear evidence of creating Indirect category strategies
  • Strong experience coupled with subject matter expertise in strategic sourcing of Indirect Professional Services & Finance
  • Proven results implementing standard procurement best practices, building strong relationships with clients and suppliers, and consulting on procurement best practices for cross-functional project teams
  • Ability to lead cross functional remote teams by influence
  • First class communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Confident, comfortable and calm approach internally and externally up to and including ExCo level
  • Flexibility to travel overseas as required
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent
  • CIPS or equivalent preferred
