Role Purpose 

Using your deep and broad regional category and customer understanding, you will be responsible for supporting business growth. This will involve identifying internal and external data sources and translating this data into meaningful insights and trends in order to optimise commercial results. 

 

 

Main Accountabilities

As Category Marketing Manager EMEA you will focus on Beverages, Bakery and Confectionary:

 

Category understanding

• Analyse market, consumer and regulatory trends

• Reveal, present and action customer insights

• Collaborate with our product development, business development and commercial teams to identify opportunities which enable the business to make key decisions 

 

Category development

• Provide both strategic guidance for their category segment in the form of market/customer insights and strategic frameworks

• Tactical support through the execution of market research and analytics

 

 

Key responsibilities

• Develop marketing insights in our key categories and customers to create future pipeline opportunities 

• Collaborate with product, business development and commercial teams to drive focus on increasing market share in target categories, continuously strengthening our brand and optimising product range

• Track and monitor regional consumer, customer and regulatory trends, utilising internal data and external 3rd party databases, primary and secondary market research 

• Forge strong relationships with the marketing and regulatory leaders of our customers

• Collaborate with product and business development teams on go-to-market initiatives such as market identification, sizing, attractiveness, relevance, design and presentation of marketing materials

• Identify advantageous opportunities and associated risks within the segmented customer bases – i.e. proactive insight identification, translating insights into meaningful information, etc.

• Analyse the P&L impact of our ingredients on customers’ products and support the product value proposition

• Lead customer presentations at food shows, customer meetings (as per customer segmentation), innovation conferences and other events as required

• Manage the trade show calendar, content for events and provide data for the marketing budget

• Assist the product, business development and commercial teams in the measurement and analysis of activities in order to optimise performance – sales category analysis, sales campaign effectiveness, etc.

• Identify efficiency improvements; share learnings and recommendations.  

• Travel circa 25% 

 

 

Essential skills and experience required

• Experience working as a Marketing Manager in a B2B business in the food ingredients industry

• Agricultural or Food marketing background is preferred 

• Evidence of identifying trends and opportunities; collaborating with wider internal teams to translate these insights into meaningful information which tells a story

• English to native standard

• First class communication skills

• Credible, easily able to influence others in the right tone

• First class presentation skills

• Willingness to travel across the region.

• A 'hands on, ‘can do' approach and positive attitude.
