Key Relationships

This will be a full time project based role for an initial one-year period leading OCM activities for a consolidated Global Operations (GO) financial reporting tool across the business. Key relationships will be built on and maintained with stakeholder groups including Global Operations, Commercial teams, Finance teams, and the program team itself.

 

Role purpose

This role will be a change management role as part of the Informed Decision Making program launched July 2016. This is a finance led program to deliver a step change in Global Operations (GO) cost reporting capability, as part of the implementation of a global Management Information reporting platform. The OCM manager will lead change management activities from planning through to implementation with multi-functional, multi-regional teams. The role will be initially for the duration of the ‘GO Reporting’ phase of the program (one year) with a view to extending this role to lead change management support for other projects within GO at Tate & Lyle if available.

 

Main accountabilities

Reporting to the Director of Global Operations Finance, with a ‘dotted line’ into the Head of Organizational Change Management, lead the main responsibilities of the role will be to:

  • Lead and drive the OCM activities for the program
  • Build on what has already done in the OCM area, and provide a structured approach, working with the program team
  • Responsibility for all change management, communications, change impact assessments and training approaches and adoption activities for the program; in particular:
    • Developing a detailed communication plan (including key messages based on program benefits), and executing the plan
    • Completing the change impact and change readiness assessments, and using the outputs to drive the next set of engagement activities (e.g. training, communications activities)
    • Track adoption using metrics developed and ‘course-correct’ as needed to ensure effective adoption
  • Drive engagement, advocacy, knowledge and adoption of the new reporting tools in a structured approach across global stakeholder groups (Global Operations, Commercial teams, Finance teams)
  • Work as a core member of the program team, developing and maintaining strong relationships at the program and business level
  • Provide structured monitoring and progress updates of OCM activities at a program and wider business level
  • Support day to day change management by working in a collaborative way with other members of the OCM and matrixed team members across the business

 

Performance measures

  • The Head of Organizational Change Manager and the project business lead will set performance measures for the success of change management activities.  These will be primarily done through weekly workstream reports for the project with milestones for activity timings and owners
  • Formal and informal feedback from other project team members
  • Feedback from non-project employees on the success of training and communications activities

Skills and experience required 

  • Experience working on business intelligence / financial reporting tool implementations critical
  • First class stakeholder management, communication, OCM delivery and facilitation skills
  • Previous experience of change management, communications and / or  training roles within private sector businesses (consumer business experience desirable)
  • Direct experience leading change management workstreams or standalone projects in a project/program setting
  • Strong change management knowledge – theory as well as practical experience embedding it in organisations
  • Experience partnering with finance teams within an organisation desirable
  • Setting up and running of training programs within organisations
  • Comfortable and confident working within a global matrixed organisation
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
  • Change management qualification (e.g. Prosci, APMG change management practitioner or similar)
  • Project management qualification desirable (e.g. Prince2, MSP, etc.)
  • Ability to suggest and propose new ideas, and to assist/ shape/ develop enhancement proposals put forward by others
  • Strong delivery and facilitation skills
  • An ability to share change management principles in a compelling way to business employees
