Tate & Lyle is looking for a Strategy Manger who will be a part of the Strategy and Planning team for North America, based in our North American offices in Hoffman Estates, IL. You will be responsible for leading, supporting and delivering strategy and projects that lead the growth strategy and subsequent strategy execution, business roadmap and strategy planning tasks relating to our North American business. This includes undertaking market sizing and competitive positioning, value proposition development/articulation/launch, translating complex information into meaningful insights, and forging strong relationships with key stakeholders, internal clients and external customers.


Main accountabilities


  • Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis of our industry, global competitors, and new market and product opportunities (in the global food ingredients space, with focus on North American implementation)
  • Provide analytical (financial and strategic) support for strategy development, execution plans, 5-year planning process and related efforts for target categories/markets
  • Oversee project management tasks such as scope outlines, key questions, deliverables, work plans, design templates, meeting roadmaps, KPIs and dashboards
  • Maintain and further refine market sizing and competitive position data and insights using external and internal sources, establish alignment with multiple internal/customer stakeholders and propose recommendations to improve quality and accuracy of data to inform strategic processes
  • Translate broad strategy recommendations into actionable, executable strategy and initiatives, and partner with business leaders to implement recommendations
  • Provide decision support and analysis support to the Senior Executive team (including writing and presenting reports)



Skills and experience required  


  • Experience working as a Senior Associate / Consultant in a top-tier strategy consulting firm, or equivalent strategy experience in a related and relevant field
  • Strong research and analytical pedigree, with deep appreciation for strategic frameworks and similar techniques that help organize data, drive insights and provide actionable outcomes
  • Relevant and complex data / financial modelling experience; comfortable manipulating complex market data sets
  • Self-starter, easily able to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knows how to organize people and activities; understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflows; can simplify complex processes; gets more out of fewer resources; knows how to outline scope, list out key questions to be answered and deliverables; can create workplans, templates, meeting roadmaps; able to coordinate with internal stakeholders and track KPIs


Additional Skills


  • Experience leading Consumer Products, B2B and / or Marketing / Strategy projects
  • Credible and comfortable influencing at senior level
  • Good experience supporting strategic decision-making processes, making choices and assessing trade-offs
