Role Purpose

The Manager of Warehouse and Toll Manufacturing is responsible for the management of all third party distribution and toll manufacturing facilities to meet service requirements.  This position will build and foster strong relationships with our 3PL vendors and ensure efficient operations of our distribution facilities.  This position reports to the Vice President Supply Chain.  The position works closely with other areas of the company including Transportation, Planning, Customer Service, Quality, Procurement, Operations, Sales and Product Management to meet customer expectations.  The manger also has customer facing contact.

  • Bachelor’s degree, plus  5-7 years of supply chain experience
  • Packaging experience desirable
  • Excellent leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in managing and motivating employees
  • Clear and effective communication
  • Self-motivated
  • Innovative with strong continuous improvement focus. Six Sigma accreditation preferred.
  • Ability to interface with all disciplines of Tate & Lyle and customers
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Liaise with finance to plan, monitor and analyze warehouse spend

 

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all Warehouse, Bulk Distribution and Toll Manufacturing Operations
  • Assure compliance with governmental regulations and company directives and practices. Assure safe operation of any activities performed for Tate & Lyle
  • Plan warehouse space based on demand
  • Responsible for cost and service at 3rd party facilities including toll manufacturing – identify optimal locations, work with procurement on negotiations, provide leadership and track metrics on productivity, accuracy and on-time shipments. Ensure inventory accuracy. 
  • Identify, develop and establish best practices and procedures with 3rd party partners and KPI tracking.
  • Track cost to serve.  Identify and implement cost reduction projects.
  • Manage performance of 3rd party partners to Tate & Lyle standards and KPIs. Create remediation strategies for any who do not meet that standard.
  • Responsible for service related customer complaints root cause and corrective actions
  • Coordinate testing on new packaging, palletization, and dunnage at the warehouse. 
  • Manage start-up and transfer of new facility project
  • Partner with Quality to ensure routine inspections and audits of facilities
  • Interface with Innovation teams on new products requirements
  • Maintains a strategic understanding of external influences such as legislation, fuel costs and environmental pressures that impact their operations
  • Interface with Customers and trade associations.
  • Understand freight and shipping requirements and procedures. Work closely with customer service and transportation team to ensure end-to end order to cash process.
